I was stoking the fireplace at home and God started speaking softly to my heart. He used the fireplace as a parable to teach me about His ways and plans. I started seeing how the paper was lit so easily. Although, if there were not small sticks on top of the paper, I saw how it went out very quickly. If there were not bigger sticks on top of the smaller sticks it would last a little longer than the paper alone, but would still go out very quickly. He began to talk about how as new Christians, we’re like paper and when the revelation hits that Jesus loves us and that He has called us to be His, we light up so bright and are so excited; but soon after salvation, if that excitement isn’t met with the Word of God and more moments with Him, we won’t last long. My mind went to the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, where in a lot of circumstances the seed is stolen, choked, drained of nutrition or withered. Then God said as clear as anything, “Sit amongst the fiery ones.” When a big log sits on top of already burning sticks, it catches the fire. When a piece of wood is no longer burning, you set it amongst the fire and it soon catches alight. We were designed to be in His Word, to hear what He is saying, to encounter Him, to worship and praise Him, and to pray. I knew this but when God said those words, “Sit amongst the fiery ones,” it brought up a new concept to this parable.
This took me back to a vision I had where God had taken me above the clouds and an opening appeared. I could see a large group of people. Some were a dark grey colour and others were like a bright light. He spoke to me, “Encourage the ignited ones and ignite the dark ones.” It’s like God was placing all the pieces of the puzzle together for me, because I then remembered a dream a friend shared with me. She described in her dream there was a contraption that was bringing drops of refreshment on a hive of bees. She knew it was God’s design to release refreshment and to revive the bees for their work. We were excited to talk through this and to see God bring His refreshment and revival for His people that were weary.
Then it hit me why God has been saying to his people, “Gather the women.” Zion’s Company of Women and so many other groups across the world have been feeling this call to gather the women! Some in book clubs, some in mothers’ groups, some in small home groups, some through Zoom calls, and some in mentoring groups.
I believe it is God’s intricate design to gather all His women, wherever they fit, to be encouraged and be set alight again. When you’re ignited you can ignite others! When you’re fiery, you don’t have to do much — when you sit in close proximity with others — to then see them on fire for God. If you’re weary, sit amongst the fiery ones. This doesn’t at all downplay the first part of sitting in His Word, hearing what He is saying, encountering Him, worshiping and praising Him and praying: but I believe it’s in His plan to be connected in with other women. A group of women that do not compare their gifting and talents, that are not jealous of one another and ones that champion each other on for God. We are going to see a revival of His people as we ignite His women. Of course, it’s men AND women, but this very specific design of gathering the women is instrumental in His plan and I’m so excited you’re here and you are reading this! You are a part of His plan, you are a part of God reviving His church! Let’s join arms and let’s encourage each other and ignite others for Him!
